Head's welcome
I am proud and delighted to be the Head Teacher of the Secondary School, and to be part of the extended school community here at ICS. The School is truly a community school serving a national and international population of over 50 nationalities. At ICS we offer an education styled on the British model set out in the National Curriculum of England and Wales, yet being afforded the ability to adapt aspects to fit an international context.
The Secondary School aims to unlock the potential of all students; identifying strengths and supporting areas of development. We recognise that no two students are the same and that they learn and progress differently. Here at ICS we offer learning programmes based on student needs. The School fosters the development of inquiry, critical thinking and creativity within a structured yet broad-based curriculum. Our teachers share a single philosophy in which we aim to inspire, motivate and challenge students in all aspects of learning. I am proud of the achievements in all areas of the School, be they academic, sporting, artistic or cultural.
At ICS we believe that an holistic approach to education is essential to student development. Academic achievements do not stand in isolation and are closely linked to the personal, social and emotional development of students. The Secondary School offers a comprehensive pastoral care system which is founded on mutual respect, praise and reward and this is fostered in a supporting, safe and caring environment. We enable students to reach their full potential and develop skills to become independent, self sufficient adults who will succeed and contribute to a global society, as well as recognising and valuing the diversity of cultures, opinions and values of others. Working closely in harmony with parents and the community, students will leave school equipped with a range of skills which they will take with them to university, college and employment.
Our highly qualified British and international staff are experienced, caring and deeply committed to the development of the whole child.
