Carol Singing
Three splendid days sound like a line from one of our songs but that is how it was when Mrs Jichi set out with her Primary carol singers over the weekend.

That was how it was meant to be, but in reality it was much more because we are the International Community School and that is what we were. On the first night under the tree at Hamleys parents, staff and older siblings couldn’t resist joining in. A special thank you must go to Isabelle Jeurgensen, from Year 8, for her beautiful solo rendition of Silent Night.

This was repeated at the Al Hussein Bazaar when many of the staff and secondary students took to the stage making it a real ICS family affair. So much so Mrs Jichi was sought out to book her choir for events next year and asked if we sold CD’s! (That’s an idea!)

Mrs Lorraine Karmi and Ms Silva Sourigan must be mentioned for their crowd rousing and conducting skills, or can we can’t forget the unerring support of Mrs Jacky Smith who helped add to the festive atmosphere. The big finale was still to come on the final night at Hamleys when members of the ‘Advanced Ballet Class’ joined the carol singers with a balletic interlude. Dancing with their teacher, Miss Arabiya Issa, in her ‘Peace’ choreography, they beautifully expressed the meaning of the season and some less than dry eyes were spotted.

The whole group joined in to a rousing and fitting finish with ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’.
To all who sang, danced or came along to support we thank you very much and we wish you all the best of festive days with your families and a special thanks to Mrs Jichi for organising everything.
