Educational Visits
We believe it is important to connect learning with first-hand experience wherever possible. This includes making educational visits which extend this learning. We make good use of Amman and the surrounding area itself for short field trips. Class teachers will let you know at least one week before any local trips are planned. For longer trips, you will always receive details of timings, catering arrangements and costs etc… well in advance. Some examples of planned educational visits last year included visits to: a local river; Readers bookshop; Jerash; the Dead Sea; the Children’s Museum; a local farm; the Humane Centre for Animal Welfare; the King Hussein Park. For local trips we usually use the school buses for transport.
In Key Stage 2 residential visits are planned each year. In Year 4 this is an overnight camping expedition usually in Ajloun, in Year 5 our children spend 3 nights away in Wadi Dana and Aqaba and by Year 6, children spend a whole week away, this year in Cairo, Egypt. Before any residential visits you will be offered the opportunity to attend a parents meeting.
Our primary staff are experienced at organising and leading school visits, and all our trips are well planned and properly supervised and they have all been tried and tested. When hiring coaches for travel we always use a reputable company which ensures that coaches are equipped with seat belts and a toilet. Theses educational visits are a great experience for your children and I do hope you will support us when the itinerary is published.
Below is an outline of the residential trips planned this year, please note that the dates may change. Further details will be sent out nearer the time.
