Library

The ICS library has a wealth of resources at your disposal – fiction books, information books, CD’s, DVD’s, magazines, newspapers, as well as 10 networked computers. The library index is available for you to see where items are located.

Opening hours
The library is open throughout the day from 7:45 am to 3:00 pm. Students and staff are welcome to come and browse the library, do research for projects, independent study/homework or to simply enjoy reading in a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Borrowing
KS1 students can borrow 1 item for up to 2 weeks.
KS2 students can borrow 2 items for up to 2 weeks.
KS 3/4/5 students can borrow up to 3 items for 2 weeks, however they may come and exchange or renew items whenever they want during the school day.

Reference items may only be used in the library and cannot be taken home.

Where Things Are

The library stock comprises fiction (made-up stories) and non-fiction (information) material. The fictional material is arranged alphabetically on the shelves by author’s surname. The non-fiction items are classified by subject and organised numerically using the Dewey Decimal System.

The online catalogue and the library subject index can be used to search and locate resources.
