Secondary School
The Secondary School caters for students from 11–18 years of age and we currently have around 225 students enrolled. There is a natural progression from Primary School into Secondary but this is not exclusive. Here at ICS we pride ourselves on being a community school for national and international students; our doors are open to resident families and those who have recently arrived in Jordan.
The Secondary School is growing and we aim to move towards every year group having three form classes with no more than 20 students in each. The curriculum is organised, lead and managed along the lines of a British School and we teach the UK National Curriculum. This follows through from the Primary School and enables students to sit International General Certificates in Education in Year 11 (aged 16), moving to General Certificates in Education (Advanced level examinations) in Years 12 and 13. These examinations enable students to apply for university and college placements around the world, and prepare students for the world of work should they choose to follow a separate route from higher education.
The curriculum is British-styled which enables teachers to incorporate an international flavour to subjects being taught, yet still work towards examinations. More information about the curriculum can be found under Key Stages and Curriculum in the drop down menus.
